I feel the sickness that Nikki has just gotten over creeping up into my veins and seeping into my flesh…and I am quite upset.  Thankfully, Nikki gave me some Echinacea and hopefully it works and I feel spritely tomorrow morning.  Until then, I must feed the sickness with a 2 hour, hot as hell, traffic spree and then 4 more hours of work at my job in Long Island! Welcome to the adult world Patrick.

Yes…welcome.  Picture a welcome mat made out of broken glass.  That’s the kind of welcome a young person has to the “adult” world.  This has been said 2 million times before, but damn, I wish I could be a kid again.  I want the days back where my biggest concern was getting home for dinner on time…or who was going to be my tag-football teammate.  Those were the days, man.  My nephew’s got no idea how lucky he is at age 4 to be entirely clueless.

But there are still amazing things to be done in the adult world that benefits all ages…and that’s really what you have to strive to do.  Why bother going to a job on a daily basis that you despise…just so you can do what I’m doing right now and complain?  As long as you do something worthwhile for others in your lifetime, then it’s all okay.  High Breed’s one of those special places where adults are doing what they love for a good cause…not sitting in 4x4 cubicles talking shit about their bosses or co workers.  Cha know what I mean?

Anyway, that is my ramble for the day.  Till tomorrow everyone!

“It’s so damn hot! Milk was a bad choice”

Holy Hotness!

So yeah…it’s extremely hot out today.  Although beautiful, and I would rather it be sunny, hot weather than cold, grey weather…it’s still not the best when you’re sitting in a car at a slow crawl for 2 hours with the inability to turn on the air in order to prevent the car from overheating.  Run on sentence…eh, things happen when it’s hot.  Anyway, can anybody guess what I’m about to say next? Yep…we’ve got a busy day today.  A lot of important meetings with some important people, a lot of writing articles, charts, and other documents, and a lot of mixing and editing.  Here’s to a sweaty, productive Thursday.

“I believe Diversity was an old, old wooden ship…”

Bilkis likes Oreo’s!  Who knew!?  I love how much I learn here at HighBreedMusic about all different cultures and different kinds of people.  French, German, Canadian, Cuban, South Asian, Pakistani, Irish, St. Lucian…so many different people I come into contact with on a daily basis.  It’s freaking awesome…learning how to say certain phrases in certain languages and learning about what each culture enjoys as far as  food, entertainment, music, movies, and the list goes on on.  I will bash every barrier created from childhood that is soaked with ignorance until none remain and I am open to all.  Good day today…we were all busy staring at our computers until our eyes criss-crossed.  Till later/tomorrow everyone!

Melanie Charles

So last night we had a crazy show.  Melanie Charles and The Journey definitely rocked the house.  I was literally able to vibe in every one of their songs.  The drummer was on point, never missing a beat!  All in all, everyone seemed to be feeling the positive vibrations all around the Breeding Ground.

Melanie Charles and The Journey!

Putrookuu has just arrived for the Melanie Charles and The Journey session!  So far, all I have to say are the musicians as well as Melanie are all freaking awesome, warm, and inviting.  Getting ready for the session some more now, so anybody who wants to attend should really come…it’s going to be awesome, I can feel it.  Till later guys!

Perfect Timing!

Coming in a half hour early for the past couple days felt refreshing BUT I devised a way to come in exactly on time! Which means more sleep =D. Yesterday me and my man Buse tackled the rest of the equipment from last Monday’s show and I got to watch Tariq work with some songs from the performance..man he’s good!

Our session with Li’nard’s Many Moods was simply amazing.  A seriously talented group of musicians and singers, their expertise in getting the crowd singing, and even dancing upon the stage, oozed through and was proven by endless smiles and head bobbing/butt shaking.  As a musician myself, I found myself staring at Li’nard’s fingers while he played bass and just wondering how he can possibly make it look so easy.  The same goes for each and every member of the group.  We would like to thank Li’nard’s Many Moods for taking a trip out to Brooklyn and grooving the house down.   As I said a lot last night, their music was almost edible…I could basically taste it…like strawberry shortcake…or perhaps toasted almond ice cream…if you prefer.  Whatever tastes like heaven basically.

Li’nard!!!!!!

Yesterday, we had the pleasure to assist an incredible show!! It was my first show and I really appreciated it! My french friends were very glad to come and to see the brillants performers, they told me that they were lucky to be here!!! Everything was perfect: the members of the band were very cool, strong voices, beautiful songs, super atmosphere…. I look forward to see another show like this one!!!!

Hello again,

Patty here to spread some more love before I make my way back to Long Island.  It’s my brother’s birthday today…he’s freaking 30 years old now.  All I have to say to him is: ouch.  Just kidding though, 30 isn’t so bad (***make a ‘yeah right’ face).  No, really.  I’m looking forward to getting back with the family and busting his balls over it for the rest of the afternoon, and evening.

In other news, I am still keeping up on my French…with some extra help from The Khan today on how to pronounce certain letters.  It is one tough language.  As an Italian American and someone who took Italian in High School, I am very used to rolling my r’s like most Spanish/Italian speakers.  The French however, do something wicked with their throats and tongues that I can not quite comprehend yet.  It differs from Hebrew as well, as much as I try to pretend the sound you make with your throat is similar…it’s not at all.  I will not give up though until I can string at least two sentences together without any mistakes-my goal for the week.

Our crew was hard at work today, staring at computer screens for hours and making our fingers ache.  The Khan was on his usually daily meetings which never seem to stop, and Bilkis did not look away from her computer screen until our fantastic Andreas came in to upload some videos.

And I must add that Buse is looking quite luxurious with his shaved face!  Nice work Buse.

Now I must be off; till later.

How-Now-Brown-Cow?

What’s up, everyone?  Woke up to a beautiful day today.  This weather is really amazing when you are driving and have all the windows down.  I mean, I’m a window down kind of person to begin with…even in the winter; but when the sun is shining and the breeze is the perfect temperature, it’s a lot more effective. The sound of the wind keeps me calm and somehow soothes me.  My car windows are never closed because I feel terribly alone and trapped when they are.  Perhaps I am the only person who does this?  Who knows?

Anyway, we’ve got a busy day today, so it’s time to get going.  Till Later…

The Wrong Note

Ok, so I just found out that purple is used to highlight wrong notes by the audio guys. This was right after we had a conversation about the allegedly overwhelming amount of feminine (read hormonal) energy that is pouring out of my, well, pores (-an even longer conversation that we won’t get into-). (like how I just broke a bunch of style rules? booyah!)

Anyway, so I’m chirping about how I feel pretty great, when they hear a wrong note, which they proceed to highlight in purple. Then Fishkrackalacka points out the ironic fact that I’m wearing purple today…could this be the reason my aura and words are being is being misread or misheard? Who knows? Who knows. But I was entirely entertained by the thought that I am a wrong note today in someone’s song…the one that stands out and makes you go hmm…yeah, gotta fix that. I am an inspiration for change. :-)

Yeah. Right. Back to work kids, have a great night :)
