No sleep…no matter which city or country we’re in.
Bilkis and I are here on Day 2 of our trip, and we’re taking a little time out from walking around to catch our breath. Last night we hit up Jello Bar to see Alan Prater. Wooo! I had heard a lot about this charismatic stage wonder, but seeing and hearing him in person beats the pants off of youtube videos. After the show we got a chance to chat with him, and my my, what a charmer ;-) We’re definitely looking forward to linking up with him again.
I have to say we had a blast last night, dancing to the live music of the crazy band, and the tunes DJ Eric the Tutor was spinning. He’s going to be in NYC soon @ La Pomme, if you can catch him, you will be on your feet and smiling all night long.
I could go on and on, but let me summarize:
Food. Awesome.
Music. Incredible.
People. Fabulous.
…why aren’t you on your way up here?

It was great to have a wake-up slightly earlier than usual today. Brooklyn is one of the friendliest places in the world when the sun is out! Still a few sour-faced cats milling around (the type who want to live gangster rap songs) but for the most part a righteous warm buzz threading through everyone. Some more Sensai training for Fishcracker took place on a Tap Messengers track. One of the highlights today was certainly a mid-cleanup dance sesh with Buse, Nikki, our new French intern Bilkis (her first dance in America?) and myself. Nothing inspires it like Beck’s effort at South American shakedown, Tropicalia.

In the middle of a clean up, a spontaneous dance party erupted. Everyone was shaking their goodies! That part I missed.
However this, was priceless.

Greetings all!
I’m in bridal land, but I wanted to remind you that we’ve got a killer show coming up on Mother’s Day. Inword will be rocking out in our luxurious performance lounge as they record a live album. Wooo!
Are you excited? You should be!
Check out some music:
Toodles!
I almost choked on my bacon, egg, and cheese right now when Patrick fell out of his chair. It was one of those time and gravity-defying moments: a slow, unavoidable fall. He fell like, sideways, plank-wise, into a space between the monster ladder and desk extension. Hahaha. I mean, “are you ok?!”
Michael Jackson morning! I’m planning my agenda for the day…much to be accomplished. We’re having a meeting, continuing organization & structural improvements, and of course, writing! We met Sophy, our publicist on Sunday. She’s super sharp, and I’m very excited to work with her.
Note: Last week Patrick and Tariq had a spontaneous song moment. OMG. I keep watching the video, it’s crack. I’m going to keep bugging them to make something with it because it is crazy catchy. I’d post it, but the file is huuuuge.
Over the last few days, I’ve been in my head a lot more…consciously…and what’s come of it is an honest evaluation of what is. What? An examination of reality. In a nutshell: there is time enough for everything a person wants and needs to do, but you have to make the time for whatever those things are…and act…put them on paper and then execute them. La la la. Express truth, recognize reality, act positively…oh snap, the unity of the force and such.
